the Edurable association
The Planet Workshops, Think Tank on Sustainable Development, established the Association "Edurable" to encourage the establishment of programs dedicated to education for sustainable development in sensitive areas - Priority Education Zones (ZEP) in especially in the suburbs of large French cities. It enjoys the support of the Prefecture of Paris and the Ile de France to identify geographic areas and populations of young recipients of these experiments.
Education for sustainable development in sensitive areas and the suburbs is to strengthen the educational component of a comprehensive policy for sustainable development in particular towards people excluded from its scope.
This results in the realization of field experiences to an audience of children of primary school, colleges and high schools.
The New Technologies of Information and Communication (ICT) are the preferred tool to achieve these initiatives.
These developments create some challenges.
Having access to existing information in this changing world requires knowledge in a sort of information overload sometimes confusing.
Young people need to determine if the information is current, accurate and fair.
Also, it is commonly accepted that most current students will occupy between 10 and 15 before reaching the age of 40 years.
No result, we must ensure that the majority of these young people are able to learn new ICT skills during their career, let alone in underprivileged areas.
The acquisition of skills in the mastery of ICT promotes lifelong learning for students.
Learning with ICT is :
Critical thinking and creative : Supporting and forging a trial course, promoting the ability to make informed decisions, create, innovate and imagine.
Teaching ethics and accountability : Citizens of a digital world youth must be trained in ethics and fairness. They have rights and responsibilities. They must learn to use ICT securely and responsibly so as not to endanger or cause the company into a spiral irreversible.
Acquiring and mastering computer literacy : It is an essential component of IT, incorporating the ability to apply the acquired skills, file management and complexity of electronic data.
Why do young people need to develop their skills in the learning of ICT?
In a constantly changing world, ICTs have become an essential component of the company's twenty-first century.
The "Imagine your city of tomorrow" program
In this context the association Edura, with the support of the Prefecture of Paris and IBM France, has launched "Imagine your town tomorrow 'for children from 5 to 7 years.
This program aims to promote education for Sustainable Development through ICTs and to bring the perspective of these children on their vision of the city, first in Paris.
What makes the Grand Paris for those living in future times?
Based on IBM KidSmart modules and content for 3D modeling of the City of Paris, devised by the association Edura, the projects run by Imagine your city tomorrow "will integrate the concepts of :
Operational Steps program
