Thierry Breton

Thierry Breton is Chairman and CEO of ATOS, an international IT services company. He is a graduate in electrical engineering from SUPELEC in Paris and a graduate from the French Institute for Higher National Defence (IHEDN). In his career Thierry Breton has held a number of senior positions in business, politics and academia. Before joining ATOS he was Professor at Harvard Business School teaching Leadership and Corporate Governance. From 2005 to 2007 he served as France’s Minister for Economy, Finance and Industry, where his action focused on reducing the public debt and investing in new areas of growth such as the intangible economy. His has held different management positions within France Telecom, Thomson and Bull Group.

Thierry Breton is also a writer. He is the author of many books about information technology and economy, and co-author of a novel about cyberspace, Softwar, which was translated into 25 languages and ranked one of the best sellers in 1984.

Thierry Breton won the prestigious French Légion d'Honneur in 2008. He was also awarded the French National Order of Merit commander and named European Business Leader of the Year. In 2010, Thierry Breton was ranked by the Harvard Business Review as one of the top best 100 CEOs in the World for the past decade.
